"What would you
say your work is about?" This is a question I get asked a lot.
I find it quite a difficult one to answer.
My response is "Honesty is the most important thing I strive for
in my work."
The above image represents the key ingredients that I believe make a
good work of art.
Honesty is at the top, it is what you must strive for. The artwork I
respond to most strongly is honest, unaware of itself, free from artifice.
These are all things which I try to incorporate into my work.
Confidence is the second element. You must have confidence in your work,
you must believe in it, this will assist you in keeping it honest.
I have yet to discover what the third element is. This in itself is
a strong part of my work as I believe each piece of work I create is
a step that will lead me closer to discovering this third element.
